Robinson Flat Campgronds
Google maps to start

Come and participate in a family friendly weekend full of running, eating, and singing around the campfire. Robinson Flat Campground is a remote free campground under stately pines and firs near a beautiful meadow and stream.  The campground is the last stop of the Foresthill Divide Road Driving Tour.

The race starts right from the campgrounds at 6,700 feet over sea level. Runners doing the Marathon and 50K will get to experience the 5mi Little Bald Mountain loop taking runners higher than 7,100 feet. After the 5 mile loop, all runners will head east towards the Western States trail through Duncan Canyon to then complete the course by running down from Sunflower hill back to the campgrounds where a potluck style finish line will await.

Campsites are free and on a first come basis. This campground has vault toilets and a hand pump well nearby. There is no trash removal service so pack out what you pack in. The road to the campground is narrow and winding so trailers are not recommended. This campground is located on the Western States Trail.

From I-80:   Take Foresthill Exit  and drive on Foresthill Road for 15 miles to the Forest Service Ranger Station just before the town of Foresthill. Continue on Foresthill Road for 27 miles to the pavement's end at Robinson Flat.

General Notes:

Western States Trail access
Access to Little Bald Mountain Trail
Pack-in/pack-out (no garbage receptacles)
Located near historic and archaelogical sites

Location: 27 miles Northeast of Foresthill on Foresthill divide Road

What’s Included

Major Swag

All of STR events are filled with goodies and custom bibs, while we know the killer hills and post race party with plenty of food will make you want to sign up again, we celebrate your finish with major swag. Each STR race has a little different swag because we know nobody needs 14 beer pints, or 12 tshirts.

Aid Stations

All of STR events are full of great aid station with the best available volunteers. The volunteers will help you fill up your bottles and quickly move toward the finish line. Depending on your event distance, our aid stations may include soda, boiled potatoes, candy, gels, electrolyte, salt tablets, and much more.

Cupless Event

Each runner is responsible for bringing their own reusable cup or water bottle. Reusable cups are small, are no problem to carry along while running and will save thousands of cups from being trashed, and possibly blown away littering our beautiful trails. We will have some small collapsible water containers for sale at the event, or we recommend you purchase one in advance at your local running store or online at HydraPouch.
