Everyone has a role to play in getting ready and staying healthy.
We would like to share with everyone of our participants our concerns and precautions towards a safe event.
We do not have any plans on cancelling the race, but we do not hold the final saying. We received an email from our local permitting agency reminding us that the “State Park reserves the right to cancel or postpone any special events due to COVID-19 pandemic”. We believe that this is just a standard notice to alert us they too are watching closely the safety of our community.
In an effort to keep everyone healthy, we ask that if any of you is feeling even a little bit sick or under the weather, please skip this race. While we would love for everyone to participate and have the best of times, we ask you to realize what a huge role your participation plays in keeping our community strong and healthy.
We are working to implement a few set of safety standards to keep contact between runners to runners, and runners to volunteers at a minimum. We will share these new plans by this Thursday, once our online registration closes. In the meantime we ask you to be patient. This is all new to all of us and we are doing our best to adapt to this changes outside of our control.
As of right now please know that every aid station will have plenty of latex gloves available for all the volunteers to wear through-out the day. We are trying to encourage all runners with high concerns about any virus spread to pack a drop bag so you do not have to 100% rely in all aid stations. Every aid station will have several spray bottles with a mix of Bleach and water to the recommend quantity per the CDC and volunteers will work towards a clean and safe environment for everyone.
Our source of information has been the CDC website and you can learn more about the prevention of the virus by visiting the following link.

Our online access gets more limited as we get closer to the event but we are doing our best to answer everyone’s emails as they come in. Make sure you visit our website for any specific event questions as most questions can be answered through there.

We are excited to see everyone of you this Saturday.
Happy Tapering.
