Information:

The 35K has over  4,000 feet of vertical gain.

While the name FOURmidable comes from the four major climbs along the course in the 50k, the 35k shares 3 of those 4 major climbs. Runners will run towards the famous No Hands Bridge on their way out and climb up  K2 (aka-Training hill) towards the top of Knickerbocker Canyon  to then descend all the way down to the river. At which moment runners will be right on the other side of the American River canyon from the START area. Runners will then climb up the switchbacks back to the Knickerbocker AS to then cross Knickerbocker creek on their way towards Cool AS and then follow the Western States trail towards No Hands AS and on their way up to the finish.

Three hills found in the 35k:

1. K2 (AKA Training Hill)
2. Knickerbocker (Old Auburn Dam Site)
3. Overlook hill

Less than half mile of road on any distance.

AWARDS

• Awards will be presented the top Three (3) places overall in male & female field.
• Age Group awards will be presented only to the 1st Place runner in each of the following age groups, per gender:

19 years old and under
20 to 29 years old
30 to 39 years old
40 to 49 years old
50 to 59 years old
60 to 69 years old
70 +

SPECTATORS

Spectators are only allowed at No Hands AS, Cool AS, and Auburn.

35K AID STATION TABLE:

Aid stations will supply water, electrolyte drink, gels, salt tablets, soda, some snacks, and of course, boiled potatoes.

The cut off times below are strict at the aid stations. The total distance has a soft cutoff time of 6:30hrs, which means that as long as you make the strict cutoff time at No Hands bridge, you will be counted as a finisher, even if it takes you over 6:30hrs.
